Escalante, UT

Last weekend we headed down to Escalante, Utah for some camping and hiking. While it was pouring down rain in Northern Utah, we had sunny skies and cool temperatures...perfect for hiking!
We got to try out our tent for the very first time! (The same tent Jordan got for his b-day a year or two ago!)
Hike through "the largest petrified forest in the US"
Visit a beautiful waterfall that filled a pool full of water as cold as if there was ice floating in it!
Refresh our skills at "old people card games" (aka: Skip bo) And "Eat better than we do at home" according to Jordan!

We didn't, however, get to hike the Spooky and Peek-a-Boo slot canyons because our car (Toyota Corolla) does not have enough clearance to make it down the ill-maintained road to get to the trails! We were so bummed!
This experience made us realize how unfulfilled our lives are because we don't have a truck! Ha, ha! So, it may have been just the excuse we needed to validate buying one! Anyone selling (or know of a great deal) on a newer 4 door Toyota Tacoma?! Let us know!

Is there anything cuter?

What's cuter than a little kitten? How about TWO little KITTENS!!! These two brothers showed up on our back porch Monday evening, with their mom. They've been hanging out there since! And we LOVE them...but our two cats are enough for us! So we need to find a new home for these two babies! Let us know if you want them!

Our House

I really do LOVE our house!

Look at all the pretty things you see at our house!

I think we'll keep it...for now!

Another year older

Birthdays are a funny thing. The older you get, the less exciting they become!

And I'm learning, the older I get, the easier I am to please! All I really wanted for my birthday, Jordan delivered on...a good dinner at a "Surprise" restaurant, and an ice cream cake!

Good job, honey! You definitely scored some points!

Here's to another great year!

It really is GRAND

We went with some of our friends, and had TONS of fun!

So, we survived the Grand Canyon! Jordan thrived, and I barely got out with my life! But, we LOVED it!
We didn't get a back country permit, like we were hoping, so we just got to do some day hikes. But, during our long day hike down the Hermit's Rest trail to Dripping Spring, I realized back packing (not necessarily) into the Grand Canyon (but definitely) out of the Grand Canyon would have KILLED me! I guess it's time to admit that I'm not as fit and trim as I used to be!

Since we didn't get back country permits, we had two extra days to kill, so we went back to Las Vegas and hung out in SIN CITY. While there, we ate ALOT of REALLY good food, which for me, is ALWAYS a highlight of a vacation!
Not our favorite place, but still we had fun.

Overall it was a GREAT trip, but would've been that much better if we could've gone into Havasupai. Oh well, maybe next time.
