Aloha Maui!

For whatever reason, I'm feeling really "homesick" for Maui today, so I thought I'd do our final post on the last few days of our trip (that ended almost one month ago, exactly), so that we have a complete scrapbook of our awesome vacation!

After getting the crap kicked out of us by the waves on day 8, we decided to kinda take it easy for a bit, and headed back to the swap meet on day 9 for more bargain hunting. We got the rest of our island treasures, and as we were driving away Jordan said, "We could move here!" Those of you who know him, know what a HUGE statement that is (considering the only place he's EVER said we could live in the whole time I've known him is California)! He loved being able to get the fresh, island fruits at the swap meet and taking them back to the condo to make smoothies!
After the swap meet, we headed to the Iao Valley. This place (specifically the Iao Needle) was the site of some massive battle for control of the island, however many years ago...but to us, it was just another dreamlike locale! I still can't get over how GREEN everything was (especially now, being back in the desert of Utah)!

After taking a day break from the scary ocean, I was brave enough to tempt fate again, and the next day we headed back to the beach with our replacement snorkel gear. We ended up at Napili Bay and Jordan stumbled upon one of our greatest finds of the entire trip! While I was basking in the sunshine on the beach, Jordan went off exploring tide pools. During his exploration, he came across a Turtle Town! He came back to get me, we grabbed our gear, and headed over for the best snorkeling of the whole trip! We were in a protected cove swimming with TONS of GIANT turtles! Some had shells about 4 feet wide! It was the coolest snorkel experience I've ever had! They seemed to stare at us almost as much as we were staring at them! It was awesome! After that, we hung up our snorkel gear feeling totally fulfilled!

On the way back to the condo that night, we stopped in Kaanapali to stroll the beachside path. It was a nice little walk, and there were some AMAZING hotels in that area! Just for fun, we went back and checked the price on a couple of the hotels we passed, and it's safe to say, we wont be staying there anytime soon (if ever)! $700 per Night! Our little condo never looked so good!

We woke up Monday morning knowing it was our last day, and decided to head back to Kaanapali beach for the day (our flight didn't leave until 10:00 PM). So, we spent our last day in paradise playing in the water, lounging on the beach, and feeding the birds! I almost had Jordan convinced to "sell everything, and never go back (to Utah)" but his rational side won out, and he made me come home!

Oh well, we had a BLAST while we were there! It was the perfect mix of relaxation and activity! And since Jordan made me, I'll say, "Aloha Maui...until next time!"
