The Baby Has Arrived
The anticipation is over...three days late, the baby finally has arrived. The night was long, but the delivery was quick. I awoke at 8am and the delivery process started about 15 minutes after that. Then about 20 minutes after that the baby had arrived by 8:36 am. He came out whizzing all over the doctor a couple of times. He showed some strong lungs from the get-go as well. He came out at 7 lbs 1 ounce and 19inches long. Little Henry Jordan is his name and that's about it for now. Baby and baby's mama are healthy. All went well. Here are some pics as well.

Baby Project #2 & #3...Finished!!!
If you recall from my last post, my next project to finish before the baby arrives was refinishing a glider. Well, I'm very happy to report that the glider is finished and looks awesome! And, if I'm being honest, I didn't do anything on this project! Jordan painted it for me (I LOVE it black!) and my mom paid to have the cushions re-upholstered (Thanks, Mom!). I LOVE the end result! It's got to be THE most comfortable glider I've ever used!
My final baby project (painting the dresser and re-purposing the mirror)was also completed this weekend, and turned out so cute! It was a natural wood color, but we painted the whole thing black, put on some cute knobs that matched the bedding, and replaced the mirror with a sheet of tin to use as a magnet board! I even made a few magnets that I'll use to hold up just a few of the many pictures I'm sure we'll be taking shortly!
At my Ward's Super Saturday last year I bought this cute little block craft, and have had it sitting in the closet since. Sunday I pulled it out and decided it would work perfectly in the baby's room! I think it's so cute!
I love how the whole nursery has turned out!
As a side note, I knew I had gotten bigger in the last few weeks, but I didn't realize how much until I looked at these pictures side by side (32 Weeks vs 38 Weeks)! It's pretty fun to see how quickly your belly can expand when you've got a rapidly expanding baby inside it!
At my 35 week doctor visit, we got our final ultrasound and were told the baby was measuring somewhere around 6 lbs 3 oz. So, I think we could have a chubby one whenever he/she decides to debut, which I thought was going to be Monday night/Tuesday Morning!
I was feeling sick all evening, and woke-up around 12:00 AM with Major stomach cramping, which, of course, I assumed was contractions! I even started timing them. This went on until about 3:00 AM, when I finally told Jordan, "I can't take it anymore, we HAVE to go to the hospital!" To which he responded, "Has your water broken? I think we should wait until your water breaks!" I immediately informed him that was the WRONG response! So we got busy gathering our things and getting ready to go. However, a few minutes later, I started throwing up, and didn't stop until my stomach was empty, and the sink was full (with Jordan's watch sitting in it!) Sorry, to anyone reading this, that's a bit graphic! But like I've warned before, this blog is really just a journal for me, so I write down the things that I want to remember, and that was one of them, because it was pretty funny! Anyways...after that episode, I pretty much knew the pain I was feeling was not contractions, but rather the pain of a stomach suffering from food poisoning! It was not fun! But, I'm happy to say, after being wiped out for an entire day, I feel much better and am once again ready to meet our baby!
On a totally different note, Jordan started Pharmacy school on August 28th and has been working his little tail off ever since! He had his first two tests last week, and passed both! He's such a good student! I know he's going to do really well at whatever he puts his mind to! Keep up the good work, honey! Soon you'll have a little someone to keep you company during your late night study sessions!
